Hi, I'm Colin Tan. I've spent more than 20 years doing corporate legal work inside some of the world's largest agribusiness companies, including Bunge, Olam, Wilmar and Royal Golden Eagle (RGE/Pacific Oil & Gas). I hold a BA (Hons) in Law and History from Oxford Brookes University, I'm a qualified Chartered Secretary (ACG, ACS), and I'm also an RFA - ACRA Registered Filing Agent.

My work has covered legal commercial, M&A, project financing, shipping and trade support across Asia, Africa and beyond. I've structured complex commercial and financial transactions, kept businesses compliant with statutory requirements, and set up entities around the world for International SOS.

Along the way, I noticed something. Startups and SMEs face many of the same legal questions as big corporations, but without an in-house legal team or the budget for one. A few hours with a law firm can cost thousands, and for most early-stage businesses, that simply doesn't make sense.
